1. Is there seating chart and do we stay in assigned seat? Yes and yes. 2. Can I ask for, and get missed assignments between classes or at the start of a class? No. A better time is at the end of class, during Academic Advisement or later in the class when all instruction and lecture has happened and students are working independently. 3. Can I bring a cell phone to Spanish class? Yes. You will use it to record speaking practice assignments and for research when directed. All other times it is to be put away at the tardy bell automatically without being prompted. If this doesn't happen promptly and immediately upon the bell, phones will be put in the classroom basket and picked up at the end of class. Notices of cell phone infractions will be recorded under Phone Etiquette in Infinite Campus and points will be deducted from Phone Etiquette grade. 4. Can we have food in class? Sure. WPHS students have been superb in cleaning up after themselves. I do reserve the right to revoke this privilege at any time though. 5. Must we be seated as soon as we hear the bell? Yes. That is your cue. 6. Must we be seated in our desk before the bell rings to leave class without being asked? Yes. Every class period without exception. 7. Do you give hall passes to leave class? Yes but, the expectation is for students to take care of all their business between classes during passing times, however I understand the need to leave class on rare occasions. A student must earn the privilege to use use a hall pass by writing down a passage in Spanish or explain what they have learned most previous in class. This is on a form and students get 2 per quarter to use as they see fit, but with a time limit that is reasonable. Under 5 minutes unless other circumstances arise. 8. Will you actually shut the door when the bell rings? Yes. 9. Can we listen to i-pods/music in class? No. 10. Can I leave Spanish class to go work in other classes, clubs or activities? No.
